Strategy

GAVI’s strategy supports its mission to save children’s lives and protect people’s health by increasing access to immunisation in poor countries.

Specific targets include:

  • 66% reduction in child mortality rates in 36 designated countries by 2015
  • Introduction of hepatitis B vaccine in 72 countries by 2010
  • Raising an additional US$4.5 billion to support immunisation programmes by 2010

See goals for more details on GAVI's goals.
